MY STORY
My interest in Snooker began at the age of 7, when my parents purchased a 4ft 6″ Steve Davis Pot Black Snooker table. Steve Davis has always been my hero and I wanted to emulate him, I played on my snooker table constantly. It was on this table where I learned the basics of Snooker – how to hold the snooker cue, shots such as the run through, stun & screw back. I also mastered the swerve shot – which alot of players struggle with at times. Whilst I always had the dream of being a pro, and having played against the Pro’s in the local Pro Am event, I realise the amount of practice and dedication that goes into improving your game is, and it’s very difficult to achieve that level. Whilst I will never turn Pro, I love watching and playing the game, and know there is always the potential to improve. I play Amatuer League snooker and have done for many years. I enjoy the competition and always relish playing better players than me, as I beleive this can improve my game.
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
Whilst I am not a Professional Player nor a Professional Snooker coach, this does not mean I do not understand the basic fundamentals of the game. I strive to try and play the game properly, as it should be played. I have received some coaching over the years, from Cliff Thorburn and other top players, but even before I had lessons my technique and playing style has always felt natural to me. Coaching has fine tuned my game to the point where I feel I can hit 50+ breaks every time I play. I consider myself very experienced at Snooker, and I am always willing to pass on what I know to young players just new or starting out in the game, this gives me tremendous satisfaction and pride. Sometimes it just takes a small amount of advice for someone to see a big improvment in their game, from holding the cue correctly, to stance & posture.
